Congratulations Helen Mahemoff OAM

The MHM is delighted to share the news that Helen Mahemoff was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia [OAM] in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Helen is a highly visible volunteer presence at the MHM. She is indefatigable in developing networks to promote and fund the work we do. Helen uses her energy, her passion for Holocaust education and her incredible talent to develop and oversee the financial health of the MHM Foundation.

The MHM Board has welcomed Helen’s award: ‘We are continuously impressed with Helen’s commitment to the work we carry out at the MHM. She is a tireless worker and advocate for keeping Holocaust memory alive. We are thrilled that her efforts have been recognised with this well-deserved honour.’

The volunteer work Helen has done for the MHM for almost two decades has been acknowledged with this OAM and we couldn’t be more pleased to say a big mazel tov! Her work is ensuring the sustainability of the Melbourne Holocaust Museum well into the future.

We look forward to seeing the progress of the new MHM building, possible to a great extent due to Helen’s tireless efforts in her fundraising work. The building project will commence in August after a slight Covid-19 delay.
