Prof. Taner Akcam, a Turkish-born historian and sociologist, was the first Turkish academic to discuss the Armenian Genocide openly. He is regarded as a leading international authority on the subject on which he has written extensively. His most recent publication is The Young Turks’ Crime Against Humanity: The Armenian Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing in the Ottoman Empire (Princeton University, 2012).
