Book launch: Paul Gardner’s “The unsung family hero” (online event)

The Unsung Family Hero is the first book-length narrative work by Dr Paul Gardner AM.

Dr Gardner, a retired academic, is the son of German Jewish refugees who emigrated to Australia in 1938. He took up genealogical research and has had several papers published in Avotaynu, the US-based international journal of Jewish genealogy.

“A gripping story of how extraordinary times converted ordinary people into heroes. …. This book transforms the history of a global war and monstrous crimes against humanity into personal story of courage, risk and heart-trembling fear.”  The Hon. Michael Kirby AC CMG

This event will be chaired by Jayne Josem, Museum Director and CEO of the Melbourne Holocaust Museum, and will be launched by well-known local author Dr Howard Goldenberg.

The Zoom event is being hosted by The King David School, and is supported by five other organisations.
