Prof Maurice Eisenbruch, MD MPhil, MEdSt, DPM, BS, MRCPsych, FRANZCP, CertChildAdolPsych, AFBPsS, MAPS, MACE, is Professor in the School of Psychology and Psychiatry at Monash University and Emeritus Professor at Royal University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
Lecture topic: “Cambodia – a case of Autogenocide”.
In this lecture, Eisenbruch will discuss the psychological impact on the survivors and upon the next generation, and the use of local religion and traditional healing beliefs and rituals to help people overcome their scars. Several parallels and contrasts with the Jewish Holocaust will be considered.
