MHM Social Club: Dr Dvir Abramovich

Guest Speaker Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chair of B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission, will speak about ‘Old Poisons in New Bottles: The New anti-Semitism and the war against Israel’.

Dr Dvir Abramovich is chair of The B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission, The Israel Kipen Lecturer in Hebrew Studies and Director of the Program in Jewish Culture and Society at The University of Melbourne.

A much sought after media commentator, he has been interviewed on radio and TV and has written opinion pieces for The Age, The Australian, The Canberra Times, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Times of Israel and The Herald Sun. He has also hosted sessions at the International Melbourne Writers Festival and The Film Festival. For the last 13 years he has contributed a monthly column for The Australian Jewish News.

Dr Abramovich is the author and editor of three books and was President of the Australian Association of Jewish Studies for three terms. His new book Flashpoints: Israel, anti-Semitism and The Holocaust will be out later this
year.
