MHM Social Club Guest Speaker: Gary Samowitz, CEO of Stand Up, will give a lecture on “Changing the World… Where Do We Start?”.
Gary was appointed as Stand Up’s first CEO in 2009 and has played a key role in overseeing the explosive growth of its programs and volunteer community.
Stand Up is all about the Australian Jewish community pursuing social justice and improving the world around us. Its current programs include empowering Sudanese refugees, engaging with remote Aboriginal communities and running innovative education programs for the Jewish community.
Gary, who was born in South Africa, was previously the Hillel Director in Sydney where he served as a mentor and trained Jewish university students, and was fortunate to staff 12 Israel programs. He studied Jewish History and International Relations.
