The Holocaust Film Series will be screening the new documentary: Claude Lanzmann: Spectres of the Shoah (2016) Canada/UK. Directed by Adam Benzine – 40 Min / English, German, French. This Oscar-nominated documentary delves into the life and work of French director Claude Lanzmann, examining the 12-year journey undertaken by Lanzmann to make his 1985 film Shoah, a sprawling ten hour long epic documentary about the Holocaust.
Following the film join us for a panel discussion on “Shoah – Memory and Representation” with Dr Adam Brown, Deakin University Senior Lecturer in Digital Media and Dr Trent Griffiths, independent researcher. The panel will be chaired by Sue Hampel OAM, Co-president Melbourne Holocaust Museum; ACJC Monash University Teaching associate and International Programs’ Coordinator.
