MHM Guest Speaker, Lilly Skurnik OAM, Author of “The Colours of Life living blind” will be giving a lecture on her book and her life.
….an inspiration not only for those with vision impairment, but for the sighted who unthinkingly brush aside those with disabilities.
Lilly was a typically happy go lucky 14-year-old, and cherished daughter of Polish Jewish immigrants living in Newtown, when in 1944 doctors discovered a tumour on her brain. The operation to remove it was successful, but Lilly woke up blind.
Lilly’s Memoir ‘The Colours of Life living blind’ portrays how in spite of blindness, she has gone on to live a wonderful life!
