Directed by Hilmar Oddsson
Presented by Professor Paul Bartrop, Florida Gulf Coast University.
The only Icelandic Holocaust film ever made, which focuses on the story of composer Jon Leifs, the husband of Jewish concert pianist Annie Riethof, whose career path fell victim to the tumultuous events leading up to, and including, World War II. Having fallen in love with a Jewish girl, Leifs’ musical endeavours quickly transform into a battle for survival as he faces ethical dilemmas amidst the Nazis’ destruction of Europe.
