MHM Social Club Guest Speaker, Walter Rapoport, Editor of ‘Gesher’ Magazine, will give a lecture on “A History of Interfaith Dialogue”.
Walter is the editor of Gesher, the prestigious annual journal of the Victorian Council of Christians & Jews. He is also a former Chairman of the Council. During his chairmanship he was invited to Poland to address the Polish Council of Christians & Jews, particularly noteworthy as he is Polish-born.
Walter has a particular interest in Jewish / Muslim relations, and has published a paper on the ‘Tribulations of Islam’. He co-chaired two Commonwealth-Government funded Living In Harmony projects – Building Bridges, in which ten Jewish families and ten Muslim families engaged in a range of activities over the course of one year; and the Embracing Youth project in which Jewish youth and Muslim youth engaged similarly over a year.
Walter is a director of a finance company.
