MHM Foundation
The Foundation provides opportunities for donors to support the Melbourne Holocaust Museum in a significant and enduring manner.
Established in June 2003, the MHM Foundation is a stand-alone entity with the purpose of providing for the long-term future financial security and sustainability of the MHM. The Foundation’s charter is to raise funds from donors in order to build a substantial permanent endowment fund. It is governed by an independent Board of Trustees.
Every gift to the Foundation is accumulated in full to the Endowment and a portion of the annual income is granted annually to the MHM. In this way, the Fund will maintain its real value and each and every gift will have an everlasting impact on the vital work of the MHM.
The survivor generation created the MHM in 1984. Over time, as their numbers diminished, it became clear that staffing levels would need to increase. This was the motivation for the establishment of the Foundation, which supports the important work of the MHM by assisting with salaries and funding improved technologies with the aim of “Keeping Their Voices Alive”.
The Foundation welcomes new donors.
Foundation support
There are three giving opportunities to support the MHM through the Foundation. Each donation will be appropriately acknowledged and all gifts are tax deductible.
Major donors
A Major Donor is an individual, family or company that commits a minimum amount of $25,000 to the Foundation. These donations can also be directed to specific projects within the MHM. Major Donors will be honoured on permanent display at the MHM.
Partners in Remembrance Program
The Partners in Remembrance Program is a three-tiered structure for individuals and families to express their support for the MHM. The donors in these categories will be suitably recognised.
