About this event

Museums are not just spaces for learning about the past, they are also centres for collaboration and engagement with issues that affect us in the present, and catalysts for change. They are places where memorial and remembrance intersect – where history is preserved, reflected upon and reinterpreted through objects, stories and artistic practice.

How can art facilitate this dialogue, and what responsibilities might it invoke? Join us for a fascinating conversation with world-renowned artist Kathy Temin and independent curator Esther Gyorki as we explore the role of museums as sites of remembrance and dialogue, and consider how contemporary art installations can activate these spaces to engage audiences with the past while prompting reflection in the present. This conversation will be moderated by MHM Head of Exhibitions & Storytelling, Dr Daniel Haumschild.
