About this event

While some Jewish people were able to practise their religion in secret during the war, many young people were forced to reject or hide their Jewish identity. This 90min program explores the nature of hiding, and the ways people sought to maintain or deny their Jewishness during the Holocaust.

Participants will engage with the experiences of Holocaust survivors and be inspired by their resilience. They will also discover how kindness from strangers changed the lives of many people.

This program is generously supported by the Holckner Family. It is delivered with sensitivity, in an age-appropriate manner by our expert museum educators, and emphasises the importance of being connected to one’s Jewish identity. It is for all students who are getting ready for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah.
Parents, should they wish to do so, are welcome to attend for free. For all enquiries, please contact us at education@mhm.org.au.
