Corporate tour of the 'Everybody Had a Name' exhibition

The Melbourne Holocaust Museum offers a range of meaningful, interactive and transferrable programs for teams, leadership groups and whole workplaces. Our adult learning programs are bespoke to the needs and interests of your group.

For workplaces, we also offer corporate programs that draw upon the lessons of the Holocaust to unpack and enhance cultural competence in our contemporary work settings. We have delivered cultural competence training for Ernst and Young, the AFL, local councils and more.

All programs include a 60min tour of our permanent exhibit, Everybody Had a Name.

A group of our employees visited the Holocaust museum as part of the organisation’s ongoing focus on improving awareness and understanding of Australia’s diverse cultures. We were all very moved by the presentations we received, and the museum itself with its extraordinary exhibits... We’d recommend this visit to any individual or organisation interested in learning more about the Holocaust and antisemitism, and understanding why that history is still so relevant today.

Cultural Competence Corporate Program

How can we ensure that our workplaces allow for intercultural understanding and the promotion of cultural awareness? The Melbourne Holocaust Museum offers a powerful program that draws upon the lessons of the Holocaust to unpack and enhance cultural competence. This program also provides an overview of the history of antisemitism, enabling participants to appreciate the reasons that it can be difficult to identify, and considers the various trigger points and sensitivities for Jewish people in Australia today.

Understanding the Holocaust

From 1939-1945, the German government presided over the eradication of two thousand years of Jewish life and culture and Europe. How can we make sense of the enormity of this catastrophe, and how can we understand the forces that enabled it to happen? In this workshop, we situate the Holocaust within a history of antisemitism and European nationalism, considering the roles played by a broad array of different people, and seek to answer a fundamental question: Why the Jews?

The Jewish Community Today

Most of the Jewish people who live in Melbourne are descended of Holocaust survivors. In what ways have the lessons of the Holocaust impacted their identity and their sense of purpose? In this workshop, we take a close look at the demographics of Jewish Melbourne, considering its religious and social diversity today. This is the perfect program for people who would like to better understand contemporary Jewish life in Melbourne.
