The Melbourne Holocaust Museum has received funding through the Multicultural Affairs portfolio of the Victorian Government for a groundbreaking project, “Critical Thinking is Critical: Educate, Innovate and Advocate against Antisemitism”.
This multisector, multiyear project will occur from 2024-2026 and focuses on the reduction of antisemitism, vilification and hate speech in Victoria. It is a project of learning, listening, enquiry and discovery which will ultimately develop and deliver an education and advocacy program designed to address antisemitism and champion social change and cohesion.
The aim of this important project is to bring about collective responsibility and behavioural change across multiple demographics in order that people can identify, debase and stop antisemitism and hate speech at its roots. The project is founded on three pillars for success: educate, innovate, advocate and features multiple aspects and multiple stakeholders, all working towards enhancing critical thinking skills, championing social change and fostering social cohesion across the state.
The “Critical Thinking is Critical” project is committed to achieving long-term outcomes in addressing antisemitism and hate speech in Victoria. With the project’s focus on building critical thinking skills, enhancing character strengths, and collective responsibility, we lay the groundwork for sustained change and solutions that will bring about a more socially cohesive landscape.
The Melbourne Holocaust Museum acknowledges the support of the Victorian Government.
