On 22 November 2023, the Melbourne Holocaust Museum Grand Opening was attended by Holocaust survivors, community leaders, politicians, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

The MHM redevelopment project was almost five years in the making. Supported by the generous community, as well as state and federal funding, this redevelopment has ensured the MHM can enhance its capacity to educate against hate, with two new state-of-the-art exhibitions, and further facilities for Holocaust education.
