My sister and I arrive at our uncle’s hut but Mum and Dad aren’t there. There’s nobody there. I am so scared. What if I never see my parents again? I have to go find them. Maybe it was too dangerous for them to travel. I walk back to their friends’ house where I think they might be.

 

But when I get there I just can’t bring myself to knock on the door. It’s too much. I keep going to the empty block behind the building because I just can’t stop crying. I go back and forth five times.

 

I finally find the courage to knock on the door. When it opens, I see my Mum sitting on a chair. We throw ourselves into each other’s arms, both crying.
